Barbara has been teaching in Glasgow since 1981. She trained in London for three years with Walter Carrington.
Before this, she graduated in music, then gained a post graduate teachers' training certificate, and then worked as a musician and a music teacher.
Opportunities to teach the Technique have come to her in many different forms. As well as having extensive experience of working with individuals, she runs groups and workshops, and has also trained others to teach the Technique.
She also practices as a psychotherapist. Her training is in transpersonal psychology, and also in some branches of the neuroscience of psychology. She is especially interested in the way the body expresses and holds the psychological material which is often hidden from consciousness. Her experience of the Alexander Technique is woven into her understanding of this work.
She practices on the south side of Glasgow in Langside.
